Cordyceps: The Mushroom We Use for All-Day Energy and Movement
Cordyceps is the energy mushroom, but not the way an energy drink is. Here is the difference between steady fuel and stimulation.

The question: if Cordyceps is for energy, why does it not feel like coffee?
The short answer. Because it is not working on your alertness. Caffeine blocks the signal that tells you that you are tired. Cordyceps has been studied for how efficiently your body uses oxygen and produces cellular energy. One masks fatigue. The other supports the machinery underneath it.
What it is. Cordyceps militaris is a small orange club shaped mushroom. It is the cultivated species used in most quality supplements, including ours. Traditional accounts often reference a wild relative found on the Tibetan plateau, which is scarce and extremely expensive.
ATP, in plain language. ATP is the usable energy your cells spend to get work done. Think of it as small change. Food is the money in your bank account. ATP is the cash in your pocket that actually gets handed over when a muscle contracts or a neuron fires. Most fatigue conversations are really conversations about how efficiently you convert one into the other.
Oxygen utilization, in plain language. Your cells need oxygen to make ATP efficiently. Using oxygen better means getting more work out of the same breath. Cordyceps research has focused on this area, including small human exercise studies.
What the human research shows. A 2010 trial in older adults reported improved measures of exercise capacity after 12 weeks. A 2016 study in healthy young adults using a Cordyceps containing blend reported improvements in oxygen uptake after three weeks. These are small studies with modest effects. Cordyceps is not a shortcut to fitness, and we would rather set your expectations correctly than sell you a story.
Steady energy versus wired energy. Rhizo energy should mean steady human performance. Not jitters, not a spike followed by a crash, not borrowing from tonight to get through this afternoon. That distinction is the whole point of how we formulate for energy.
Why Scott uses it. Because it is the clearest example of an ingredient that supports output rather than masking fatigue.
Where it fits in Rhizo. Cordyceps is a core part of All About Movement.
The takeaway
· Cordyceps supports the machinery of energy production, not alertness.
· ATP is the usable energy your cells spend to do work.
· Human exercise studies are small and effects are modest.
· Expect steady support over weeks, not a stimulant hit.
